Hostinger Review 2026: Best Budget Host?

Hostinger review verdict: Hostinger has the lowest intro price of the three shared hosts compared below, on its 48-month plans (Premium $2.49/mo, Unlimited $3.49/mo, both read on 1 November 2026), but the price is a long-term commitment and the renewal rate is $10.99/mo on Premium and $16.99/mo on Unlimited. It suits budget-first site owners who will commit to the term. It is a weaker fit if you want a short commitment or a flat renewal price.

What is Hostinger?

Hostinger is a web hosting company that sells shared, cloud, WordPress, agency and VPS hosting, plus domains and email. Its About page states the company was founded in 2004 in Kaunas, Lithuania, and is headquartered in Vilnius. The same page says Hostinger is a private company that has never been publicly listed, and that decisions about the product and the roadmap are made in-house.

On scale, Hostinger states that it serves customers in more than 150 countries and that its website and customer support are available in 30+ languages. It also says the company is built and improved by 1000+ people. These are vendor statements read on 2 November 2026. HostingDive has not audited customer counts, and earlier customer-count and revenue figures that circulate in third-party coverage are not repeated here because they were not checked against a vendor page.

For a buyer, the practical point is what the product line looks like. The web hosting page read on 1 November 2026 shows three tiers (Premium, Unlimited and Cloud Startup), and the sections below cover what each includes, where the servers are, how support works and what the refund terms say.

Hostinger pricing in 2026

Hostinger's shared hosting page listed three tiers on 1 November 2026, each priced for a 48-month term paid upfront under a Black Friday offer. A 'Today you pay' line states the upfront total and the renewal rate for the same term.

Plan Intro price Upfront total, 48 months Renews at Offer label
Premium $2.49/mo $119.52 $10.99/mo 80% off
Unlimited $3.49/mo $167.52 $16.99/mo 82% off
Cloud Startup $7.99/mo $383.52 $25.99/mo 71% off

What the plans include

  • Premium: described as 'Run websites smoothly. Great for creators and small brands.'
  • Unlimited: described as 'Unlimited websites and mailboxes, plus AI tools and priority support for maximum flexibility.' Unlimited features are subject to Hostinger's Fair Usage Policy.
  • Cloud Startup: described as 'Dedicated power for agencies or high-traffic projects.'
  • Free domain: one year free on yearly or longer plans. Not all TLDs are eligible and the domain must be registered within 12 months of getting the plan.
  • WooCommerce: included at no extra cost. Hostinger Ecommerce can be added for $1 for 3 months, renewing at $8.99/mo.
  • Email: each mailbox includes 1GB storage and renews at $0.59/mo on a 12-month term after the free period.
  • Backups: automatic backups every 24 hours are listed, and daily backups are stored for 7 days with weekly backups kept for 7 weeks.
  • CDN: Hostinger describes its CDN as giving up to 40% faster loading times. That is a vendor claim.

Features deep dive

This section covers the features buyers ask about most. Each point is a vendor statement read on 2 November 2026 unless a different date is shown, and HostingDive has not run its own tests of these features.

Data centers and server locations

Hostinger's server locations page says it provides a global network of data centers and that the locations available to you depend on your hosting plan. For web and cloud hosting plans the page lists Europe (France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom), Asia (India, Indonesia and Malaysia), North America (USA: Phoenix, Boston and Asheville) and South America (Brazil).

The page adds that if your preferred location is not listed, you can use the Hostinger CDN, which operates in additional locations such as Johannesburg (South Africa), Japan and Sydney (Australia). Agency hosting plans have a shorter list (Frankfurt, Mumbai, Phoenix, Boston and Brazil), and the page says changing the server location after the initial setup is not yet available for Agency hosting plans. HostingDive does not state a total data center count, because the vendor page lists locations rather than a count.

CDN, staging and developer tools

Hostinger describes its CDN as optimizing website speed by caching content on multiple servers globally and delivering it from the visitor's nearest location, resulting in up to 40% faster loading times, with built-in static website caching, cache purging, and CSS and JavaScript minification. The 40% figure is a vendor claim, not a HostingDive measurement.

For developers, the WordPress hosting page lists a toolkit of WP-CLI, SSH access, Git integration and PHP version control, and a one-click WordPress installer. The same page describes LiteSpeed server infrastructure built for WordPress and in-house plugins for easier setup and maintenance. It also explains that a test site can serve as a staging environment before going live.

Control panel (the Hostinger dashboard)

The vendor's control panel tutorial now calls it the Hostinger dashboard, and describes it as a custom-made control panel to manage web hosting, email, VPS and other Hostinger services, reached at hpanel.hostinger.com. Many users and older guides still say hPanel, and Hostinger's own support articles still use that name in places. The left sidebar groups the main areas, including a Websites section to manage sites on web, cloud or agency plans, add a new website or migrate an existing one, and a Domains section for DNS and new domain names. The plan limits for disk space, CPU cores, inodes and bandwidth are listed in the Details section of the dashboard, and Hostinger notes that hosting parameters are subject to change without notice.

Backups and security

The web hosting page says daily backups are stored for 7 days and weekly backups are stored for 7 weeks. Hostinger's backup documentation is more cautious: it says automatic backups run weekly by default and daily on plans that include daily backups, that a plan with weekly backups only can buy a daily backups add-on, and that manual backups can be generated once per 24 hours. It also says email mailboxes are not included in website backups. Because the two pages differ, check the Details section of your own plan before relying on a retention period.

On security, the WordPress hosting page lists a Web Application Firewall, Secure Access Manager and a WordPress Malware Scanner, plus unlimited SSL certificates and automatic updates for WordPress core, themes and plugins. It adds that Business and Cloud Startup plans get enhanced DDoS protection. Hostinger's SSL page describes its free SSL certificate as domain-validated with 256-bit encryption.

AI tools

Hostinger markets AI features on its plans. The Unlimited tier is described as including AI tools, and the plan cards list AI credits that grow by tier (the page shows 500, 1000 and 2000 credits as doubled Black Friday amounts for the three tiers, a one-time gift on a 48-month plan). The WordPress page describes a chat assistant called Hostinger Agent that can run and maintain a WordPress site. Older coverage called the assistant Kodee; the current vendor pages use the Hostinger Agent name. HostingDive has not tested these AI tools, so treat the descriptions as vendor marketing.

Speed, uptime and support

Speed

HostingDive has not measured Hostinger's speed, so this page states no load time or time-to-first-byte figure. Measured load times for hosts that appear in our benchmark live in the HostingDive Speed Index, and the method is explained in how we test hosting speed. The only speed statements here are the vendor's own: LiteSpeed servers with NVMe storage on the higher tiers, and the CDN claim of up to 40% faster loading times quoted above. Third-party benchmark numbers that circulate for Hostinger are not repeated on this page, because we did not re-verify them.

Uptime

HostingDive has not measured Hostinger's uptime either. What exists is the contract. Hostinger's hosting agreement offers a Service uptime guarantee of 99.9% of available time per month. If Hostinger fails to maintain it in a month, you may contact Hostinger and request a credit of 5% of your monthly hosting fee for that month, usable only for further Hostinger products and services, and a claim must be made within a maximum of 30 days after the interruption. The agreement states the failure is determined solely by Hostinger, so read the guarantee as a limited credit, not as proof of measured availability.

Hostinger also runs a public status page, which carries a 90-day uptime view. Competitors state their own guarantees: SiteGround states a 99.9% uptime guarantee, and Cloudways states 99.99% uptime. Bluehost's pages state both a 99.99% uptime SLA and a 99.9% SLA in different places, so confirm the figure in your own agreement.

Support and migration claims

Hostinger's own page lists 24/7 support and a 30-day money-back guarantee, and describes migrations on its WordPress page as 85% completed in under 5 minutes; treat those as vendor statements. The detail on support channels, migration and refunds follows in the next three sections.

Migrating to Hostinger

Hostinger's migration page says you can migrate an unlimited number of websites for free, with 24/7 customer support, and that AI automates the site migration. The WordPress hosting page repeats the offer as fast, free, unlimited migrations, says it has no impact on live site availability, and gives the 85% in under 5 minutes figure as a vendor claim. To use it, the page says you buy a hosting plan, open the Migrate Website menu in the dashboard, add a migration request, select WordPress, fill in the fields and submit; Hostinger says it will transfer the website within 24 hours.

There are limits. The migration page says sites built with a website builder cannot be migrated to Hostinger because those are closed-code platforms, and it names Wix, Squarespace and Shopify as examples. Domains need to have been active for 60 days or more before a domain migration. If you prefer to move a site by hand, the page says to download the website files and the database.

For comparison, SiteGround provides a Migrator plugin with a migration token, Cloudways offers a free managed migration service with unlimited WordPress site migrations, and Bluehost offers a free migration tool or service, subject to review, with qualification at Bluehost's sole discretion.

Customer support

Hostinger's support article says you can reach support by live chat in your account, WhatsApp or email. It states plainly that Hostinger does not offer phone support, so there is no customer care number to call. You can start with the AI assistant, and a Customer Success Specialist can join the chat if you need more help. If you start in the website chat, the article says the conversation can move into the Hostinger dashboard, where Hostinger Agent can access your account, and your chat history carries over.

Hostinger's site banner lists 24/7 support. HostingDive has not timed Hostinger's responses, so this page gives no response-time figure; response times quoted in third-party tests are not restated.

Sources: vendor support pages read 2 November 2026. Each row is the vendor statement, not a HostingDive test.
Host Channels stated by the vendor Hours stated
Hostinger Live chat, WhatsApp and email; no phone support 24/7 (site banner)
SiteGround Chat, phone and ticket 24/7
Bluehost Chat and phone; ticket access across WordPress support tiers Chat 24/7; phone 7 days a week from 7 am to 12 midnight EST (refund page)
Cloudways Live chat and tickets 24/7/365

Two of these vendor numbers are claims about speed of response, and they are vendor claims only: Bluehost's contact page says average chat response time is under 2 minutes, and Cloudways says 90 seconds average response time. SiteGround says its reps resolve 90%+ of inquiries at first contact. HostingDive did not verify any of them.

Hostinger refund policy

Hostinger's refund policy states that products purchased may be refunded only if canceled within 30 days of the date of the transaction. The policy lists products with special terms. A new domain registration is refundable only if the refund is started within 96 hours and more than 24 hours have passed since the last refund of any other domain registration. Domain transfers are refundable only if the transfer is unsuccessful and the refund is started within 30 days. A VPS plan is refundable within 30 days, with a further condition of more than 180 days since the last VPS refund.

The free domain is the catch for shared hosting buyers. The policy says free domains provided as part of special deals, such as a free domain on 12, 24 or 48 month plans, are non-refundable, with exceptions only for .br domains. Plan on paying for the domain separately if you cancel.

Where each host puts its servers: SiteGround states 11 datacenters across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, backed by a CDN with 170+ edge locations. Hostinger lists locations by country, as shown above. HostingDive found no Bluehost data center page and no Cloudways city list, so it does not compare them here.

Cloudways is a managed cloud platform with server-based pricing ($14, $28, $54 and $99 per month for 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB RAM), not a shared-hosting plan. Who should use Hostinger

  • Use it if you want the lowest price on a long term, you plan to keep the site for four years, and you will review the renewal bill before it lands.
  • Use it for WordPress or WooCommerce sites that fit on shared hosting, where WooCommerce is included at no extra cost.
  • Skip it if you want a short commitment, a flat renewal price or the lowest renewal rate; Bluehost Starter renews at $9.99/mo and Hostinger Premium at $10.99/mo, so check the monthly renewal on each.
  • Look elsewhere for large stores or agency workloads; Hostinger's own page positions Cloud Startup for agencies and high-traffic projects, and Cloudways prices servers by RAM.

What HostingDive has and has not measured

HostingDive has not run speed, uptime or load tests on Hostinger, and this page does not give a HostingDive score or rating for it. Everything on this page is either a vendor statement, with the page and date it was read, or arithmetic on those statements. The sections above say so each time a number appears. If you want measured performance, use the Speed Index linked above for the hosts it covers and run your own trial inside the refund window.
